Chadhawa (also written chadawa or chadava) comes from the Hindi 'chadhana' — to offer, to present, to elevate. It is the act of making a physical offering to the deity's form — the murti or the sacred image — rather than to the fire.
In the Hindu devotional tradition, chadhawa carries a different quality from havan: it is more intimate, more directly personal. When you offer a yellow saree to Maa Baglamukhi, you are dressing her. When you offer turmeric, you are connecting with her birth-element. When you offer a chunri, you are wrapping her in your prayer. The offering is not mediated by fire — it goes directly to her form.
Puja or havan involves ritual sequences, mantra rounds, and fire offerings — it is the active ritual dimension of worship. Chadhawa is the devotional dimension: the direct physical expression of love, gratitude, or petition to the goddess's form.
Many devotees do both: major pujas (Mirchi Hawan, MahaYagya) for active situations, and monthly chadhawa for maintaining the devotional connection.

The most direct connection to her origin story — she arose from Haridra Sarovara, the Turmeric Lake. 11 is the Tantric amplification number. 11 turmeric knots offered with a nimbu (lemon) mala is the prescribed protection offering — particularly for enemy removal and nazar dosh.

Sandalwood paste pleases the Devi through its divine fragrance and cooling properties. In Baglamukhi ritual, chandan is used to mark the yantra and prepare the sacred space. Offering chandan invokes her cooling/protective aspect — neutralising the heat of adversarial energy.
Marigolds, yellow chrysanthemums, and yellow lotus (where available) are all appropriate. Flowers represent the freshness of devotion and the fullness of offering. Offered daily in Baglamukhi temples — the yellow garland is her constant adornment.
Besan ladoo, kesari halwa, or any yellow-coloured sweet. Bhog (the food offering) completes the complete chadhawa — flower, cloth, food. The prasad returned after bhog carries her blessing and is often sent to devotees via courier.
You select your items and provide your name-gotra. Our pandit at Maa Baglamukhi Dham or Nalkheda opens with your sankalp — your name and gotra declared. The items are then placed at the murti or draped over her form with specific mantras for each item. The complete sequence is recorded. Video delivered within 72 hours.

Q: Can I offer chadhawa and book havan both?
A: Yes, this is the recommended combination. The havan addresses the active situation. The chadhawa deepens the devotional connection and maintains it. Many devotees book Mirchi Hawan for immediate situations and maintain monthly Amavasya chadhawa.
Q: Which chadhawa for which occasion?
A: Yellow chunri — any time, regular offering. 11 Haldi — enemy protection, nazar removal. Yellow saree — major festivals (Jayanti, Navratri), significant prayers.
Q: Will I receive prasad?
A: Prasad delivery is optional. Select prasad option when booking and it will be couriered to your address after the chadhawa.
