Where a listing is a combo of several pujas performed together, the price also depends on how many pujas are included in it — each ritual in the combo is separately performed, so a combo costs more than a single puja at the same member tier. The listing tells you which rituals are in the combo before you pay.

Every name and gotra in your package is called out by the pandit ji during the sankalp, so the member tier you pick is simply how many people are named in the ritual. A higher tier does not buy a better puja for one person, and nobody at DevPunya will tell you that it does.

Yes. The pandit ji performs the puja at the temple on your behalf and takes sankalp in your name, gotra and nakshatra, so you do not need to be present. No. The puja is performed in your name and gotra through sankalp, which is what ties the ritual to you rather than physical attendance. This is the same principle by which a family member has always been able to have a puja done on behalf of someone who could not travel to the temple.

Both arrangements exist on DevPunya, and the puja page tells you which one you are booking before you pay. A VIP puja is a one-to-one booking: a slot is reserved at your chosen temple and the pandit ji performs the ritual exclusively for you. A standard puja may be performed as a group puja, where the pandit ji performs on an auspicious occasion for several devotees together and takes each devotee's sankalp by name and gotra within that ceremony.

Neither is fake and neither is hidden from you. We spell it out because it is the thing devotees are most often misled about in this category. Kashyap gotra is used. If you do not know your gotra, leave the field blank or enter it as unknown, and the pandit ji takes sankalp using Kashyap gotra — which is what the shastras prescribe when a devotee's lineage gotra is not known. This is a very common situation, particularly for devotees born abroad, and it does not make the puja any less valid.

If you later find out your actual gotra, tell support on WhatsApp before your puja date and it will be corrected in the sankalp.

Yes, up to the number of members in the package you book — 1 member at ₹951, 2 at ₹1,501, 4 at ₹2,501 and 6 at ₹3,501. Each name and gotra you enter in the sankalp form is spoken aloud by the pandit ji during the ceremony.

You can include family members who are not with you, including people living in other countries, and you can include someone without telling them. Having a puja performed for another person's wellbeing, with their name in the sankalp, is entirely traditional and needs no permission from them.

To be clear about what is being offered: this is a prayer made in your name at that shrine. DevPunya does not promise that it will produce a marriage, and nobody honestly can.

Individual chadhaava offerings range from ₹5 to ₹901 depending on what you send — a coconut, flowers, a chunri, sweets or a full thaal. You pick the items you want and the total is what those items add up to. There is no separate service fee added on top.

Chadhaava is an offering placed at the temple in your name; a puja is a ritual performed for you by a pandit ji with sankalp, mantras and havan. Chadhaava starts at ₹5 per item and is what devotees send for a mannat or on a specific tithi. A puja starts at ₹951 and is the fuller ceremony. Many devotees book both for the same occasion.

If you are unsure which you want: chadhaava is carrying something to the deity, a puja is having a rite performed. Neither is a lesser act of devotion than the other.

It buys the offering you chose and gets it placed at the shrine in your name. When you send a coconut, a chunri, flowers, oil or a thaal, DevPunya buys those exact items near the temple, a pandit ji or a DevPunya team member offers them at the shrine with your name and gotra in the sankalp, and you receive the video of that offering being made. Your date of birth, exact time of birth and place of birth. Time of birth matters most — the lagna changes roughly every two hours, and several doshas are read from the lagna, so an approximate time can change the result.

No. You can book a puja purely as an act of devotion without accepting anything at all about doshas, planets or charts, and that is a completely normal reason to book. Plenty of devotees book a Rudrabhishek or a chadhaava simply because a tithi matters to their family, or in someone's memory, or out of gratitude for something that went well.

Not satisfied is your call to make, not ours to argue with. It covers the video being blurry or the audio poor, the sankalp not being clearly stated, the ritual not being performed to your satisfaction, the pandit ji's conduct, or anything else that fell short of what you expected. You may give a reason if you want to help us improve, but it is optional and it does not affect whether the claim is approved.

Third, say which option you want: Option A, a complimentary re-performance at the next auspicious muhurat, or Option B, a full 100% refund.

You do not have to explain yourself. DevPunya processes the claim within 48 hours of receiving it, and the refund reaches your original payment method in 5–7 business days, with your own bank sometimes adding 2–5 days on top of that.

Yes, and it is fairer to tell you now than at the moment you claim. A refund is not given when the sankalp details were wrong because they were entered wrong at booking — a misspelt name, the wrong gotra or the wrong nakshatra — since the pandit ji performs with exactly what you provide. It is not given when the video could not be delivered because the phone number or email you gave was wrong or unreachable after at least three attempts. It is not given on a claim made after the 7-day window from receiving your video, or on a group puja cancelled within 48 hours of its scheduled time. And it is not given where the same account has claimed the satisfaction guarantee on three or more previous bookings, which we treat as abuse — genuine dissatisfaction once or twice is never treated that way.

Force majeure is handled differently, and in your favour. If the temple closes, the pandit ji has a medical emergency, or a natural disaster or government order stops the ceremony, DevPunya offers you a reschedule or a refund without you having to ask. Complimentary re-performance is capped at three per booking, after which only the refund option remains, so that nobody is left in an endless loop.

Yes, at any time before the puja is performed, with a full 100% refund and no processing fee deducted. Cancellations requested less than 2 hours before the scheduled puja time may not reach the pandit ji in time to be processed, and a group puja must be cancelled at least 48 hours before its scheduled time. A cancellation is only effective once DevPunya confirms it by email or WhatsApp, so wait for that confirmation rather than assuming.

Once the puja has actually been performed it cannot be cancelled — but the 7-day satisfaction guarantee still applies to it, so you are not left without a remedy.

Prasad from a puja is delivered within 8–10 days of the ceremony, and is shipped within India only. Prasad cannot be sent internationally because of customs restrictions and perishability, so devotees abroad receive the puja video rather than prasad.

No, and anybody telling you otherwise is not being honest with you. Take the Mahamrityunjaya Jaap as the example, because it is the ritual most often booked when somebody is unwell. In the Shaiva tradition the Mahamrityunjaya mantra is chanted to invoke the blessings and grace of Lord Shiva, and devotees have chanted it for centuries for courage and for peace of mind. It is a prayer. It is not a treatment, and it does not act on a disease.

So please: go and see a doctor, take the medicines you have been prescribed, and follow the treatment you have been given. Keep your faith in Mahadev alongside all of that, stay positive, and chant the Mahamrityunjaya mantra if it brings you calm and strength — many devotees say that it does, and that is a real and good thing.

But do not stop your medicines, do not delay going to hospital, and do not rely on a puja or a chadhaava in place of medical care. A ritual is how you express gratitude, or place a request before God. It is not a substitute for treatment, and DevPunya will never tell you that it is.

No. Never stop or reduce a prescribed medicine, skip a treatment, or postpone seeing a doctor because a puja, a chadhaava, a yantra, a kavach or a mala has been performed or bought. Not for yourself, not for a family member, and especially not for a child.

Nothing we sell treats, cures, prevents or affects any illness or any function of the body, and nothing on this website should ever be read as a reason to delay medical care. If you are unwell, the doctor comes first. Pray as well, by all means — but as well, never instead.

No. DevPunya does not guarantee any outcome from any puja, chadhaava, yantra, kavach or mala, and you should be cautious of any platform or astrologer that does. What a puja is, in the tradition, is a formal way of offering your prayer, your gratitude or your request — performed properly, in your name and gotra, at a temple. What happens in your life afterwards is not something a company can promise you, and it would be dishonest to take your money on that basis.

You absolutely do not. You can chant the mantra yourself at home. You can walk to your local temple. You can give dakshina to a pandit ji near you and have the puja performed there in front of you. All of that is complete, valid worship, and none of it is inferior to booking anything online.

You are a free devotee and you may worship the Lord in whatever way you choose. DevPunya exists for one specific situation: when you cannot be at that particular temple yourself — because of distance, work, health or money — and you still want the ritual performed there in your name. No. Dakshina — giving something to the person who performs a ritual for you — is part of the tradition itself and not a modern invention, and a pandit ji has always been supported by the community he serves. What would be wrong is charging for a blessing, or suggesting that paying more buys a better response from God. Neither is how DevPunya prices anything: the tiers are simply how many people are named in the sankalp.

What you are paying for is the work — samagri, the pandit ji's dakshina, the temple's own charges, travel to the shrine, the filming and editing of your video, and the team that coordinates it. Bhagwan is not on our price list.

Yes, and the principle is sankalp. The sankalp is the formal declaration made at the start of a ritual, naming the devotee, the gotra, the place, the tithi and the purpose. It is the sankalp that ties a ritual to a person, not that person's physical presence — which is why a family member has always been able to have a shraadh, a jaap or an abhishek performed for someone who could not travel to the temple, and why a yajaman commissioning a rite from a purohit is as old as the ritual tradition itself.
